Travel-Ready Mobile Checklist for Random Text Chats
Business trips, backpacking tours, or digital-nomad stretches do not have to interrupt your Thundr Chat streak. Follow this checklist to prep your phone, network, and privacy settings before you match with strangers from an unfamiliar location.
1. Audit your roaming or eSIM plan
Random text chat is light on bandwidth, but a stable connection still keeps replies instant. Check your carrier plan or roaming agreement—or activate an eSIM before departure. If you plan to hop between countries, purchase a regional bundle so the app does not pause mid-conversation.
Inside Settings → Network you can force Thundr Chat to connect to the nearest edge node. Toggle this once you land to keep latency low.
2. Refresh Safe Mode and device security
Traveling sometimes means shared Wi-Fi networks. Enable Safe Mode to keep new matches pre-screened until they pass moderation and double-check that your device lock screen uses biometrics. We also recommend logging out of unused devices inside Support — Account & Billing.
Want extra privacy? Activate Ghost Mode so matches only see your display name and not your travel region.
3. Pack the right accessories
Slip a folding phone stand and a comfortable pair of earbuds into your carry-on. Plan for long sessions by bringing a 20,000 mAh battery pack and charging cables that support fast charging. These small upgrades keep you typing comfortably and prevent your device from running low during extended matches.
4. Use co-working or hotel Wi-Fi responsibly
Shared networks can be congested. Ask for the 5 GHz SSID and avoid scheduling back-to-back sessions during known peak hours. If the connection becomes unstable, your draft messages are saved locally until the network recovers.
Using a VPN? Choose a nearby endpoint so the app can still reach the closest Thundr Chat relay. Our full troubleshooting guide lives in Support — Technical issues.
5. Set boundaries before each session
Traveling can be tiring. Let matches know if you have limited time, mute background sounds, and keep personal itineraries private. Bookmark Safe Shortcuts on the control bar so you can skip, mute, or report without fumbling while on the move.
